Spectator Rules and Code of Conduct

As a parent and/or spectator, I hereby pledge to be responsible for my words and actions while attending the University of Okoboji Classic Invitational Soccer Tournament and to abide by the following Spectator Rules and Code of Conduct.

Spectator Rules

  • No cleats are allowed inside the Bedell Family YMCA building.
  • Players must use the restrooms in the playing area, not inside the YMCA building.
  • No pets are allowed at the YMCA for any tournament-related events.
  • Tobacco, drugs, and alcohol are prohibited at all tournament-related events at the YMCA.
  • Spectators are responsible for monitoring their children who are not participating in games and tournament-related events.
  • Spectator Code of Conduct

    All spectators will:

  • Remember this is a recreational tournament.
  • Encourage good sportsmanship and conduct.
  • Treat referees with respect, regardless of their age and decisions.
  • Stay a safe distance away from the touchline on their side of the field.
  • NOT enter the field of play without the permission of the referee – even for an injury.
  • NOT coach or instruct players from the sideline.
  • NOT use nor be under the influence of tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs at games.
  • NOT use offensive, profane, vulgar language.
  • NOT threaten, harass, intimidate, or make inappropriate, hurtful, offensive, abusive, or racist comments about officials, players, coaches, or tournament directors or volunteers in any way before, during, or after any games.
  • In instances of severe violations of the Spectator Rules and Code of Conduct, games may be suspended due to poor spectator behavior until the spectator(s) leaves the area. If the offending spectator(s) refuses to leave the area in a timely manner, spectator’s team may be penalized with the administration of a red card, ejection from the remainder of the game or tournament, as well as individual or club suspension from the tournament for up to two years. I understand that the sole discretion of such decisions will be up to the Tournament Directors.
