Sure, the club teams get to travel, but did you ever wish there was a soccer tournament for recreational teams at a family-friendly location?

This is a recreational soccer tournament for CYSL U12 and U14 boys and girls teams.

The main purpose of this event is for all players and their entire families to have fun.

The 48th Annual University of Okoboji Classic Invitational Soccer Tournament will take place June 7-8, 2025. This is a FAMILY-ORIENTED RECREATIONAL TOURNAMENT, designed to promote the Iowa Great Lakes area and your CYSL soccer club. No select teams are allowed.

This notice is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute an invitation to the tournament. If your team is interested in participating in this tournament, you must register by April 12th, 2025. The total number of teams will be limited in each division. Registrations will be confirmed after registration closes. No verbal responses will be accepted! If interested, please respond by registering your team on the Tournament Registration page on SportsEngine Tourney. All registrations will be handled via this website, starting March 15th, 2025.

There are four age groups ("divisions") participating in the tournament. There may be more than one bracket of games in each age division. The divisions are:

-
Under 12 Girls
-
Under 12 Boys
-
Under 14 Girls
-
Under 14 Boys

U12 will play 9 v 9; U14 will play 11 v 11. The maximum number of players on each team will be 18 for U12 teams and 22 for U14 teams. Teams must be from registered CYSL clubs. All players on a team must be from the same club and each player must be rostered on and play for such club in either the Fall or Spring of the 2024/2025 CYSL season. PLAYERS MAY NOT BE ROSTERED TO TEAMS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATION IN THE TOURNAMENT. See more details about player eligibility on the Tournament Info page.

We are in need of Certified Referees and Certified Assistant Referees!! If you are interested or know anyone who may be interested, please contact David Dertzo at refereeboji@gmail.com. More info can be found here.

Given the uncertainty of field conditions at the Bedell Family YMCA (Spirit Lake is prone to flooding), the number of games played by each team cannot be guaranteed; however, the Tournament's goal is to have every team play a minimum of two games, with a third game if possible.
