About Boji Soccer Classic
Boji Soccer Classic is a nonprofit corporation focused exclusively on advancing the social welfare of school-age students and their families by providing a two-day soccer tournament each year. Boji Soccer Classic was created in January of 2020 to take over the functions of an already-established youth soccer tournament held in Okoboji, Iowa. Each year Boji Soccer Classic will plan, host, and execute a tournament in or near Okoboji, Iowa for parochial school children from the Omaha, Nebraska area who participate in the Catholic Youth Soccer League throughout the school year. This provides a fun opportunity for children who participate in recreational soccer to attend a traveling tournament, to grow closer with their teammates, and to focus on strengthening their skills and confidence in a soccer program. The tournament advances the social welfare of the community by providing a space for children to socialize, advance valuable skills, create health lifestyles, gain positive relationships, and play soccer.
The tournament is two days long and historically occurs in June. The tournament provides a way for children and their families to gather together outside of a typical school setting, united for the purpose of providing extracurricular activities to the students who participate. Boji Soccer Classic believes that the providing a fun tournament for children participating in soccer furthers its exempt purpose by advancing the social welfare of school-aged children and their families by acting as an incentive for children to be engaged with sports, resulting in health and social benefits for the children involved. The family oriented tournament further advances the welfare of school-aged children by instilling in participants the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship over the importance of winning.
